Cadbury's Packaging

Not sure who exactly designed this, but I'm more interested in the type, that's the thing that drew me to this product to start with. Similar to the Kate Moross type work that she did for Cadbury's dairy milk. The curvaceous type really works well with this product. It reminded me of when we were discussing semiotics with Fred, and we talked about what style of typeface fitted with specific genres (like a stencilised type would be connected to a military genre). I think this fits with dairy type product but also the way the type flows conveys luxury.

I suppose you would think of melted chocolate when looking at this logo. It seems quite late 70's, the time that Grease came out. I just saw it in a supermarket one day and thought it looked cool. Never tried it though...

The print process used to print this would most probably be litho or flexo printing. I am unsure of which but I do believe this to be just a 2 colour print. The famous dairy milk purple would be a pantone colour and the brown would be used with a series of tints, maybe 2. The white is obviously the stock colour.
