For the background of my animation, I have been looking at football tactics boards as a possible design direction. My interactive magazine could have a similar set up purely for aesthetic purposes. Its a simple way of occupying the space and could add an extra dimension to my animation sequence. Having little details in the background, I believe, will make all the difference.
These are the most common type of examples I could find, and I could replicate some or all of the elements quite easily. This type of design is more suited to the digital platform because of how a manager uses it when discussing tactics with his players. Player graphics can move, arrows can expand, etc.
