Sea Design are a design agency based in London, producing high end print design solutions for high profile clients including, Grafik Magazine, GF Smith Paper, Adidas, Raleigh, Boots, Jamie Oliver and many others. They tend to do a lot of brand identity work with typography at the forefront.
Grafik is the UK's leading graphic design magazine. SEA created Grafik's identity and magazine design, as well as the identity and exhibition catalogue for Grafik's exhibition of Olympic posters.
This is a fantastic example of taking an identity and making it work as a full spread by using the same font weight, and switching colours and orientation. The whole thing becomes intriguing because it fits together so well.
The foils help to make the whole thing stand out against the black stock, as well as add a sense of high value and quality to the magazine edition. There's also enough negative space which aids the balance of the piece.Yet more foiling spills onto these covers for a special edition of the magazine. Once again, the orientation makes the cover a piece of work in itself.
A simple column grid layout offset by the blind embossing which works on both sides.
Penoyre & Prasad are a leading UK architectural practise, internationally recognised for their sustainable architecture. SEA developed Penoyre & Prasad brand re-positioning, identity, internal and external communications and digital design for web.
Again more lovely use of typography and layout, by allowing the typeface to speak in an informal, yet professional and approachable way.
