Sketchbook media - motion graphics showreel

I found this showreel for 2008 from an australian design agency. Technically there is an obvious high level of skill and execution in the delivery of the work they have produced. The reel shows examples of work that includes imagery, typography and video either used all together or more simply individually. The part that I find the most interesting is the use of using multiple compositions and layering to achieve depth. What I am referring to is the first 20 seconds of the sequence, where the compositions are overlaid to create points of interest and focus. Pace and timings of the different elements in one frame, I believe, is key to keeping the audience interested.

I also like the use of static imagery with animation in the background (24secs). This is a type of animation I have seen used before and I like the feeling it creates. I think it is also a way of getting around the fact I cannot use video footage for my sequences.

I really love this video and upon seeing it the first time, it opened up my mind to the possibilities of what I can do with this brief.

I want to find out how to tween type (35secs) and how to properly use the camera action in after effects (46secs).
