For the Showcase cinema rebrand I have been researching into what it offers, as well as what it's competitors are and what they offer. I have identified Showcase Cinemas main competitors as large chains such as Odeon, Cineworld, UCI, and Vue.

Odeon
ODEON is the largest cinema chain in the UK, with over one hundred cinemas. ODEON entertain more people in the UK than any other cinema chain accounting for nearly a third of all tickets sold in the UK.

Vue Cinemas
Vue Entertainment is one of the UK’s leading cinema developers and operators of multiplex cinemas in the UK. The Vue brand and company was launched onto the UK market in 2003 with 38 cinemas. Since then, Vue’s UK & Ireland circuit has grown to 68 cinemas with 657 screens with over 140,000 seats. In the 12 months to the end of May 2010, the company served over 37 million customers.

Cineworld
Cineworld Group plc was founded in 1995 by Stephen Wiener, its current CEO, and is now one of the leading cinema groups in the UK. Originally a private company, it re-registered as a public company in May 2006 and listed on the London Stock Exchange in May 2007. Currently, Cineworld Group plc is the only quoted UK cinema business.

n 2009, Cineworld accounted for 49 million admissions, had revenues of £333.4 million and an Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization (EBITDA) before exceptional items of £55.7 million.
